095 – When is it time to let go of expectations?
In October, I experienced a full-moon ceremony with my Shaman friend Pati Maez. She introduced me to her culture, and, one more time, I was amazed by the power of the Divine source, where everything is that connects with nature.
God speaks in a language that we don’t always comprehend. We are accustomed to believing only what we hear and see. A great example of that, you may not see the cold virus; however, if your body gets infected, you will feel it.
Well, that night, I experienced many things that cannot be explained with logic. One thing I’ve learned is that if we are not achieving what we want, we need to let go of something.
Albert Einstein said: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

During the ceremony, I was challenged to let go of something. A whisper came from within: “Let go of all your past expectations, especially the ones that are keeping you anchor down.”
Bear in mind that this was a spiritual night, and it’s not about letting go of business or personal goals. The message I received was to let go of any attachments and feelings toward outcomes that haven’t happened. It was essential to let the deceptive feelings attached to them go because it’s my unhealthy ego that created these expectations.
The unhealthy ego is driven by fear, guilt, resentment, vengeance, and many other negative emotions that zap the energy.
How do you know if you have any expectations driven my your unhealthy ego? Well, it boils down to one thing: are you in alignment with your mind, body, and soul? Are you financially wealthy, yet you feel miserable inside? Are you feeling trapped, alone, or anxious? These feelings are the telltale signs that something is not in alignment.
Sometimes we expect things from others, things that we wouldn’t do ourselves. Other times we expect so much of ourselves that we run on overdrive. We keep working and feel it’s never enough. In the end, we finish up feeling exhausted.
In this episode, I share with you tips on how to give yourself permission to stop and find peace within.
