107 – Are you living up to your full potential?
The tragic passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi touched me deeply. As I heard the news, it made me ask if I’m living my life to my full potential.
Then I thought if I live another 25 years, this means I only have 25 summers left. Of course, this is an assumption, not a guarantee. So, what do I want to achieve by next summer?
For the past 8 years, I’ve been studying Napoleon Hill’s book and he says to truly achieve your full potential in life, you need a burning desire.
A burning desire is more than a wish or a goal. It’s visceral. It has to happen. The reason why many of us know Kobe Bryant is because he new his burning desire at a young age and acted on it. He didn’t let fear stop him.
The main challenge we have in achieving our full potential is daring to communicate that we exist. In my experience, I noticed fear as a way to make us play small.
Often time we are not aware we are playing safe. All we know is, we don’t know what we want. We lack clarity.
Fear is behind a lack of clarity. How many people who are working today feel like they have to hide the mistake they did because they are afraid of what is going to happen to them?
How many people spend more energy trying to hide the facts rather than learning to appreciate the lesson. The truth is, there is no growth without experimenting. When there are no mistakes, nothing new is being created.
Yes, sometimes a mistake can be costly, however, if we investigate the lesson within the mistake then it’s no longer a mistake, it’s an investment.
Not too many people see it this way because we have been conditioned, since childhood that making mistakes means something is wrong with us. So we learn from a young age to not explore and dare play big in life.
In this episode, I share with you the true reason as to why a burning desire is a must to live a fulfilled life.
So don’t wait for another summer to pass by without making the best of your life, listen in and live your life on your own term with peace of mind.
